One would think that authentic renewable energy would be the first order of business for the robot overlords. Even the Matrix made it central to the plot. That’s one more detail that has me leaning towards the demonic hypothesis. Demons aren’t into creating stuff and would much rather corrupt existing systems into spreading suffering and death on the widest scale possible.

Thanks for the citations, btw. Very useful.

I've commented elsewhere that the Internet seems to have grungy, filthy feeling these days. I mean, worse than before - there have always been unsafe streets in Internet Town, but they seem to be spreading. Even fifteen minutes of Internet time can have a marked, and negative, impact on my mood.

And Facebook, good lord - I keep getting friend requests from people that turn out to be scammers, robots, and porn peddlers.

I saw today that Sam Altman is talking about AI devices that you can keep on your person. To me this is like saying, 'here's a rabid honey badger to keep next to your genitals.' I'll pass, and happily be considered a weirdo by the tech-crazed.

Boriquagato had a grim prediction yesterday about AI making the internet unusable in the next two years. Fingers crossed that it destroys itself before things get too out of hand.

Apparently Google released a AI for video that basically allows for publically available deepfake creation, with your choice of matching conversation to existing vidya or making a deepfake from scratch.

As Thor of https://www.youtube.com/@PirateSoftware has said, it will make video testimony worthless if you can simulate an opponent cracking off racial slurs on a deepfake.

So we're back to the pre-Alta Vista internet, where you have to know where the good stuff is in advance.

On the bright side that would certainly help me with my internet addiction

His writing style hurts my eyes and I dislike his libertarianism, but he may be right on the money here.

Yeah I find the low caps annoying and pretentious. The libertarianism I’m 50/50 on just because it’s a not a suicide cult like the financial system we have now.

Forreal, I would not have thought to compare Solomonic sigils to a circuit board. 🤷‍♀️

Well, heck. They told me I watched too much TV and now I guess you played too many video games and sparred on Twitter or something. "Does Satan wear a coat and tie, does he work at the Dairy Queen?" -- Martin Sexton https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ev6q7lr6nXY

I’m definitely guilty of too many online arguments, but my worst offense at the moment is procrastinating on my preparations for the Suckularity.

Paperclip and occultism.

It is said there was a sizeable contingent of Americans who supported Germany and fascism in general which went underground when WWII was declared. The internet series I've read [1][2] never quite made the connection between certain 1940's occultists and the Thule-Gesellschaft[3], but it's obvious if you sit back and view the data as a whole.

These same people popped up at the ground floor of the UFO movement and in government programs starting with the letters MK, so it's likely they were summoning things on the regular anyways.

So yeah, it checks. It's almost suspicious none of this resulted in any significant energy generation technologies, so it's self-limiting and self-destructive.
